Can another person take over my account?
Question :
Can another person take over my account?
How do I give my account to another person?
How do I transfer my account to someone else?
Answer :
If you no longer wish to be financially responsible for your wireless service and contract, and another person is willing to take on the responsibility/liability of your account, we can perform a Transfer of Billing Responsibility on your account. This would take the account from your name and social security number/credit information to another person's name and social security number/credit information. To transfer service to another consumer, you (the original account holder) must authorize the Transfer of Billing Responsibility. Please keep the following conditions in mind:
The account must be a post paid account.
The account needs to be active for a minimum of 60 days.
The device on the account must be activated.
The original account and the receiving account must not have a past due balance. The receiving consumer account holder (the person taking over the account) must adhere to the following requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age:
Exception: Alabama - 19 years of age
Exception: Puerto Rico - 21 years of age
A credit evaluation is required.
An 11 month contract from the date of the transfer must be accepted.
An $18.00 Transfer of Service Fee (per line) will be assessed.
A current rate plan must be selected. Expired rate plans are not eligible for transfer. Once the account holder has initiated the Transfer of Billing Responsibility online, an email will be sent to the new subscriber, with a secure link to access and accept the transfer, and complete the Transfer of Billing Responsibility online. A follow-up email confirmation and text message will be sent to the original account holder.
