I purchased a phone overseas or via a non-AT&T wireless services website/store. How do I get technical support for my device? AT&T sells a variety of wireless equipment ranging from phones and PDAs to laptop Aircards and modems. AT&T only supports devices which it has sold at one point or have been certified for use on the AT&T wireless network. Devices which have never been sold by AT&T and/or have not been certified will not be supported in any fashion. What is device certification? When delivering solutions to AT&T wireless customers, quality of service is our number one priority and we expect the same from device manufacturers. Having a network compatible device helps AT&T wireless services customers choose a wireless solution to deploy across their organization or as an individual. AT&T has developed guidelines and testing criteria to verify best-in-class devices worthy of displaying the AT&T wireless network Compatible logo. The goals of network compatibility testing are to validate the following:
The device does not perform erratically.
The device supports basic functions as intended.
The AT&T wireless network will not be adversely affected by the presence of the device on the network.
The device meets the minimum RF performance requirements to operate on AT&T's network.
The device supports the necessary functionality to operate in a spectrally efficient manner on AT&T's networks.
Device manufacturers have technical support (care) processes, infrastructure, and escalation capabilities in place. Benefits of Network Compatibility:
Reassurance knowing that your devices will perform as expected over the AT&T wireless network
Potential exposure to the AT&T enterprise customer base.
Use of the AT&T wireless network Compatible logo.
