A flip phone is divided into two equal halves with a hinge in the middle, enabling users to fold the phone in half when not in use. Flip phones typically have buttons on the bottom half and the display and speaker on the top half. Some flip phones also have a small display on the outside, letting you view connection details, incoming calls and the date and time without opening the phone.
