Note: This feature is only available to former customers of AT&T Wireless that have not upgraded to new rate plans. If you are a former Cingular customer or subscribe to AT&T's current network, AT&T411 is available with your service.

Get phone numbers and addresses with your text message capable phone. Just send your request to 2411 and we'll deliver the information to your phone via text message. Your requests can even be stored with instant recall to use whenever you need them again.

As part of your request include a name or a category, as well as a city or ZIP code, and we'll send you up to 10 listings, one at a time. It's like having a phone book with you at all times.

The charge for a business or residential listing including name, address, and phone number is $0.40 per request. You aren't charged for help messages you receive or if a listing can't be found. Standard text messaging rates apply for other messages sent.

Using TXT411

How to get text messaging directory assistance:

  • Follow text messaging instructions for your phone.
  • Create a text message following these formats:
    • Business listings:
      • B.name.location
      • Example: B.Joes Pizza.98025
    • Personal listings:
      • P.lastname[space]firstname.location
      • Example: P.Doe John.seattle WA
  • Location information can include:
    • City and state (Be sure to include a space between the city and state and use the two-letter state abbreviation)
    • ZIP code
  • Send message to 2411.
  • You will receive a message with the first available listing.
    • Up to 10 listings will be sent. The first will be indicated by (1/10) or the number of listings available. Example: 1/7 or 1/2.
    • If more listings are available, they are sent in groups of 10.
  • A menu is included in the message with options for using the information:
    • Reply with "A" to get proximity to closest landmarks.
    • "N" to request the next listing.
    • "H" for help on how to use the application.

TXT411 Reverse Lookup

You can look up information on any U.S.-listed wireline number by sending a text message with the phone number to 411. For example, look up 1-800-331-0500 by sending a text with "800-331-0500" to 411. If there is a match, the listing will be delivered to your phone including name, address, and the matched phone number. Each listing delivered is $0.40 and standard text messaging rates apply for all other messages sent. You will not incur a charge if no listing can be found for a searched number.
