Helpful Hints for Using VoiceInfo

VoiceInfo is constantly improving its ability to understand you. While VoiceInfo recognizes thousands of movie titles, cities, and company names, sometimes it may have trouble identifying your voice. It may be particularly difficult to understand if other people are talking to you or there is loud background noise. If VoiceInfo doesn't understand your voice, it will assist by asking you to repeat the word or offering options for dialing your telephone keypad.

Other useful options for using VoiceInfo:

  • To access VoiceInfo, dial *8 from your wireless phone. On some phones, you may need to dial *08.
  • If you are a VoiceDial customer, say "VoiceInfo" after you dial *8.
  • Say "main menu" to hear all the available categories.
  • You can say a command at any time once you've entered the system.
  • VoiceInfo understands best when you speak naturally.
  • If you call from a noisy place, you can enter the first three letters of the category you want on the telephone keypad. For example, for News Center, type N-E-W (639).
  • Instant Alibi was previously known as Escape-A-Date.

Creating Favorites

You can use favorites to customize your information each time you use VoiceInfo. For example, after going to Sports and choosing a team name, you can add it to your favorites by saying, "add to my favorites." Then you can hear everything in your favorites by saying "my favorites" at the main menu. Some other ways to use favorites is letting VoiceInfo remember your favorite stock quotes, news, weather, traffic reports, movie theatres, and horoscopes. You can also get driving directions faster by adding your home and work addresses to you favorites list.

Adding your favorite topics over the phone:

  • Select the content you'd like to add to your favorites, and say, "add to my favorites."
  • Selections from the main menu cannot be added to your favorites. However, you can add content within those categories. For example, you can't select News Center as a favorite, but you can add weather. Just say "weather, add to my favorites."
  • After your favorites are set up, say "favorites" from the main menu to access your list.

Changing your favorite topics over the phone:

  • After listening to a favorite topic, say "remove from my favorites" to take a favorite topic off of your list.
  • At the main menu, say, "my favorites" and then, "remove from my favorites" at any time to remove an item.
