Before You Travel
When traveling overseas, some devices may need to be manually set for optimum performance. For details on this and other issues, please visit the Technical Support Web site . International roaming charges vary based upon plan selected.
Terms and Conditions: A compatible phone is required. Special credit and billing requirements apply. The international service must be added to your account prior to placing calls for the rates to apply. International long distance rates from the U.S., only apply for calls placed when using AT&T's wireless network. When international calling is available off AT&T's wireless network, rates vary. Calling to certain countries when calling from the U.S. and/or traveling internationally is blocked, which will change without notice. Airtime or roaming charges are in addition to long distance charges. You may be charged a per-minute fee or surcharge for certain international calls to wireless devices. This surcharge will also be applied on calls that terminate to certain specialized services, such as Premium Rated Services and Universal Personal Telephone services. The surcharge is imposed by some foreign companies and AT&T is passing on the surcharge to you. Where the surcharge applies, you will see only one per-minute rate on your invoice, which is the sum of our long distance rate and the surcharge. When traveling internationally, service and rates only available in select countries. International networks use different frequencies and not all devices contain all frequencies. Be sure to check the frequency of both the device and the international network for the countries where you travel. Availability of wireless features varies by country. While traveling internationally, you will be charged a per-minute rate for all calls, based on the country where you are located. International taxes apply. When using your phone in another country, the billing may be delayed up to three billing cycles due to reporting between carriers. When traveling internationally, calls forwarded to your wireless voicemail system may be charged as an incoming call based on where your phone is located when the message is delivered. In addition, you may incur an outgoing call charge from your phone's location to the U.S., whether or not you receive a voicemail message. Available countries, surcharges, rates from the U.S. and rates while traveling internationally are subject to change.
