WorldConnect® Service

For Former AT&T Wireless Customers

Note: Rates below have been retired and are no longer available for activation.

Whether you're visiting another country or calling abroad from home, if you are a Former AT&T Wireless GSM customer who currently has the WorldConnect Service feature, you can extend your reach around the world with GSM WorldConnect® Service. This is the only plan you'll need to keep up with family, friends, and colleagues across the ocean—no matter how often you call or visit.

Our extensive roaming agreements with wireless carriers around the world allow you to travel with your regular wireless phone (as long as frequency matches) and make and receive calls. You can also send and receive data, so you don't have to leave e-mail behind.

In addition to the great convenience of world coverage, you'll enjoy:

  • Simple, flat per-minute rates
  • Both voice and GPRS data roaming (where available)
  • No monthly charge
  • Convenient billing on your regular AT&T invoice
  • One plan for both visiting other countries and calling from home

International networks use different frequencies so not all devices work everywhere. To check availability of service, see the Wireless Travel Guide.

Using Data Devices Abroad

Where data service is available, rates are the same for all countries and are billed per kilobyte of data usage. The data plan you choose determines the rate. To learn more about data plans and using e-mail and other data services internationally, see International Data.

Dialing Internationally from the United States

If you already have WorldConnect Service, you also receive the benefit of calling internationally from the AT&T owned and operated network in the U.S. at discounted international long distance rates.

If you are a more frequent international caller, adding AT&T World Connect along with WorldConnect Service may be more cost effective for you. Learn more about AT&T World Connect.

Terms and Conditions: A compatible phone is required. Special credit and billing requirements apply. The international service must be added to your account prior to placing calls for the rates to apply. International long distance rates from the U.S., only apply for calls placed when using AT&T's wireless network. When international calling is available off AT&T's wireless network, rates vary. Calling to certain countries when calling from the U.S. and/or traveling internationally is blocked, which will change without notice. Airtime or roaming charges are in addition to long distance charges. You may be charged a per-minute fee or surcharge for certain international calls to wireless devices. This surcharge will also be applied on calls that terminate to certain specialized services, such as Premium Rated Services and Universal Personal Telephone services. The surcharge is imposed by some foreign companies and AT&T is passing on the surcharge to you. Where the surcharge applies, you will see only one per-minute rate on your invoice, which is the sum of our long distance rate and the surcharge. When traveling internationally, service and rates only available in select countries. International networks use different frequencies and not all devices contain all frequencies. Be sure to check the frequency of both the device and the international network for the countries where you travel. Availability of wireless features varies by country. While traveling internationally, you will be charged a per-minute rate for all calls, based on the country where you are located. International taxes apply. When using your phone in another country, the billing may be delayed up to three billing cycles due to reporting between carriers. When traveling internationally, calls forwarded to your wireless voicemail system may be charged as an incoming call based on where your phone is located when the message is delivered. In addition, you may incur an outgoing call charge from your phone's location to the U.S., whether or not you receive a voicemail message. Available countries, surcharges, rates from the U.S. and rates while traveling internationally are subject to change. For current coverage, rate information and country list, see our website at www.att.com/international/legacy.
