With your GSM/GPRS device (phone, PDA, BlackBerry®, or wireless PC Card), you can extend your reach around the world. To ensure your service is available when you arrive at your destination, follow these simple steps. If you have already set up international service on your device, view instructions on how to use your GSM/GPRS device abroad.
- Decide which international service is right for you. Are you a frequent or occasional traveler? Do you travel to Europe or Mexico? Do you only need wireless data service?
Learn more about: - Before you leave the U.S., call Customer Care to activate your account with the international service that's right for you. Customer Care can be reached at 1-800-331-0500 or dial 611 from your wireless device. Our representatives will sign you up and make sure you have everything you need. Not all services are available for activation.
- Use our Wireless Travel Guide to make sure you'll have the coverage and services you need based on your device and itinerary. This tool will provide you with information about the coverage in the countries you are visiting, as well as available services and rates based on the international plan selected.

How to Use Your GSM/GPRS Device Abroad

Data Devices
Your internationally capable data device may require selecting the appropriate carrier network when you arrive at your destination. The Technical Support Web site will provide you instructions for your specific device.
- Select your device
- Select "Device Set Up"
- Select "How To's and Troubleshooting", where you will find information on how to select a specific carrier network. In addition, please refer to your manufacturer's device user guide for further instructions.
