In order to roam outside the U.S., your wireless device must be compatible with a network frequency available in the country you are visiting.

Quad-band GSM phones are recommended for international voice and data roaming around the globe.

Purchase a world phone Your local AT&T retailer can show you all the latest world phones we offer. To ensure the broadest international coverage, we recommend a quad-band device that works on all the GSM network frequencies (850/1900 and 900/1800).
Rent a world phone from Cellhire Call 1-888-376-7499 or visit www.cellhire.com/att to rent a world phone. Remove your SmartChip from your wireless phone and insert it into the unlocked phone from Cellhire. Roaming charges will be billed to your regular wireless bill. Phone rental charges are billed by Cellhire.
