Prerequisite

Access BlackBerry Internet Service

Configure E-mail settings for the BlackBerry E-mail account

  1. Access the BlackBerry Internet Service at www.mycingular.blackberry.com.

     
  2. Next to the BlackBerry e-mail account, click Edit.

     
  3. Select from the following options and click Save.

     
    • E-mail account name: Change the name of the configured e-mail account.
      NOTES: 
      • Changing the "E-mail Account" name will also change the name of the associated service book delivered to the device.
      • RIM BlackBerry devices using Handheld Software version 4.1 and later will receive a separate Messages inbox icon for each integrated e-mail account. An individual service book will be received for each integrated e-mail account.
    • Reply to: Configure an alternative e-mail address for recipients to reply back to.
    • Your name: Configure a friendly name to appear in the "From" field of outgoing messages.
      NOTE: Special characters are not allowed
    • Signature: Create an auto signature to automatically appear in outgoing messages.
      NOTE: Non-configurable from the device. Must be configured from the BlackBerry Internet Service website.
    • Auto BCC: Configure a copy of outgoing messages to be sent to another e-mail address.
      NOTE: Auto BCC E-mail address is limited to 72 characters.
    • Auto forward: Set an Auto forward e-mail address for the BlackBerry e-mail address. The BlackBerry Internet Service automatically forwards a copy of the complete e-mail message, including all applicable e-mail message attachments and content received on the BlackBerry device to the Auto forward e-mail address.

Configure E-mail settings for an integrated E-mail account

  1. Access the BlackBerry Internet Service at www.mycingular.blackberry.com.

     
  2. Next to the desired integrated e-mail account, click Edit.

     
  3. Select from the following options and click Save.

     
    • E-mail account name: Change the name of the configured e-mail account.
      • Changing the "E-mail Account" name will also change the name of the associated service book delivered to the device.
      • RIM BlackBerry devices using Handheld Software version 4.1 and later will receive a separate Messages inbox icon for each integrated e-mail account. An individual service book will be received for each integrated e-mail account.
    • Reply to: Configure an alternative e-mail address for recipients to reply back to.
    • Your Name: Configure a friendly name to appear in the "From" field of outgoing messages.
    • User name: Non-configurable. This is the actual integrated e-mail address.
    • Password: Update the password for the integrated e-mail account.
    • Signature: Create an auto signature to automatically appear in outgoing messages.
      NOTE: Non-configurable from the device. Must be configured from the BlackBerry Internet Service website.
    • Auto BCC: Configure a copy of outgoing messages to be sent to another e-mail address.
    • Deleted items: Synchronize deleted items between the integrated e-mail account mailbox and the BlackBerry.
      IMPORTANT: If this option is selected and messages are deleted on the integrated e-mail account server they will also be deleted on the BlackBerry. Messages deleted from the integrated account mailbox are deleted on the BlackBerry every 90 minutes to 6 hours.
